Adding an episode after the season already exists
Most tools in the register describe planning episodes from the start: a season plan, a cap on episodes per project, assets reused through a series. One documents the other direction, adding an episode to a project that already exists by pasting, uploading or generating the continuation and reading only the new pages. As of 2026-10-13.
| Tool | What is published | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Dramily | Up to 120 episodes in one project | Scenes, props and characters become reusable assets for a new episode |
| invideo AI | A season plan built episode by episode from an idea, script or show bible | Nothing published about adding to a finished season |
| PopShort AI | Characters, scenes and props stored as assets reused throughout the series | Nothing published about appending text |
| SceneMixer | Add an episode by pasting or uploading the continuation, or let AI continue the story | Only the new pages are read; the shared cast is attached |
| Showrunner Studio | Writing a scene returns an episode | Sets, characters and canon persist across the series |
Inclusion rule. Tools whose pages describe how episodes are added or planned beyond the first. A tool that only states an output format does not earn a row. Order. Alphabetical by tool.
1Planning a season and extending one are different operations
A season plan, an episode cap and a reusable asset library all assume the shape of the series is known when work starts. Serial drama rarely works that way: a run that finds an audience is extended, and the extension is written after the first episodes are out.
Extending means reading new text against a cast that already exists. Planning means reading one text and building the cast from it. Only one tool here documents the first as a step of its own, with a button at the bottom of the episode list.
2What the new pages are read against
When an episode is added, only the appended pages are read. Characters, scenes and props the new pages share with earlier episodes are attached automatically, and anything appearing for the first time is listed with an offer to generate its sheets at a stated price. The earlier episodes, their storyboards and their clips are left as they were.
The same guide offers to write the continuation from where the story stands, in the same language and format as the script, as a draft to edit before it is added.
3What extending gives up
One rule is stated plainly: once anything has been added, the whole project cannot be read again, so a different episode split means a new project. That is a reasonable trade, since re-reading everything would risk changing episodes that are already made, and it is the kind of constraint that is better published than discovered.
For a second season that should stand on its own, the alternative documented is a new project with the cast carried across, which is the subject of the next question.
- Script to episodesEach project is stated to support serialized dramas of up to 120 episodeswith a stated ceiling
- Cross-episode castCharacter dynamics, scenes and props are described as turned into reusable assets so a new episode keeps the visual continuitynamed reusable assets
- Script to episodesThe agent is described as turning an idea, script or show bible into a season plan, episode by episodevendor claim
- Cross-episode castCharacters, scenes and props are stated to be stored as reusable production assets, reusable throughout the series to help maintain consistency from Episode 1 to Episode 50stored assets with a stated span
- Script to episodesWriting a scene is stated to return an episode, and a show started in any genre is described as being shaped into a seasona scene in and an episode out
- Cross-episode castThe sets, characters and canon are stated to persist across the whole series, held in the product as the show's worldpersistence stated for a series
- Adding an episode laterAn episode can be added to an existing project by pasting or uploading the continuation, or by letting AI write it from where the story stands; only the new pages are read and charged
- What the new pages are read againstCharacters, scenes and props shared with earlier episodes are attached to the new episode, and anything appearing for the first time is offered for sheets with the price shown
- What adding gives upOnce an episode has been added, the whole project cannot be read again; a different episode split needs a new project
