What each tool states about the shape of an episode
Six pages name the vertical frame as the output: Anijam for every export, drama.so with two resolutions, AI Dramas as a default, TrendShort as an export target, Genra on its blog, Topview as a recommendation. Two hand the frame to the user, Pexo names three at once, and SceneMixer defaults the other way. As of 2026-09-22.
| Tool | What is published | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Anijam | Vertical at 9:16, for every episode | A property of the product |
| drama.so | Captioned 9:16 at 720P or 1080P | Resolution stated alongside |
| AI Dramas | Vertical 9:16 by default, clips of 4 to 15 seconds | A stated default |
| TrendShort | A 9:16 vertical cut with captions and voiceover | Named as the export target |
| Genra | 9:16 at the platform maximum on the blog, 1080p on the product page | Stated in two places |
| Pexo | 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1 natively, up to 4K, 5 to 120 seconds | Three frames and a range |
| AI Drama Generator | Aspect ratio, episode count and language | A decision left to the user |
| Google Flow | Aspect ratio and generation length chosen per clip | A decision left to the user |
| Luma Agents | Reframing an aspect ratio listed as an operation | Changed after the fact |
| Topview | Described as usually the best format for short drama platforms | A recommendation, not a setting |
| SceneMixer | Defaults to 16:9, with 9:16 available | The one default here that is horizontal |
Inclusion rule. Recorded from the vendor's own pages. A stated export format is recorded separately from a control the user sets and from advice about what usually works. Order. From a stated frame, through the controls and an operation, to a recommendation and the one horizontal default.
1A fixed export and a control are different products
If every episode exports at one ratio, then the tool has decided what kind of thing it makes and the decision is not available to reopen. That is a legitimate design and it rules out a project that needed both a vertical cut and a horizontal one.
A control is the opposite trade: more decisions to take, and nothing about the product assumes where the episode will be watched. Neither is better, and a register that recorded both as supports 9:16 would erase the whole difference.
2Advice is not a capability
A page saying vertical is usually best for short drama has told a reader what the vendor thinks, not what the software does. The finished file might come out any shape. Quoting that sentence in a capability column would turn an opinion into a specification.
This register keeps advice in its own row because it is genuinely useful, and useful for a different question: it says what the vendor expects the work to be for.
3Resolution rides along with the shape, sometimes
Only one of these states a resolution in the same sentence as the ratio. For the rest the finished pixel dimensions are somewhere else on the site or nowhere at all, which matters as soon as a platform states a minimum.
Where the vendor states both, both are recorded. Where the vendor states one, inferring the other from a ratio would be arithmetic on a number nobody published.
