How far down a published split reaches
The published splits reach very different depths. One reaches episodes, scenes, dialogue and beats; another stops at numbered parts; another goes past the episode down to shots and visual prompts. The depth predicts which editorial decisions a buyer still owns. As of 2026-09-22.
| Tool | What is published | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| AI Drama Generator | Episodes, scenes, dialogue and beats | Four levels, automatically |
| StoryShort | Scenes, then shots in a named beat order | Below the episode, with a shape |
| TrendShort | Shots, beats and visual prompts | Below the episode, no boundary given |
| Medeo | Numbered parts, recaps and teasers | At or above the episode |
| Showrunner Studio | A scene in, an episode out | At the episode |
| character.app | Story setup and connected scenes | Scenes named, instalments not |
Inclusion rule. Only pages describing a division appear. The level recorded is the deepest unit the vendor names, not the deepest unit the product might reach. Order. From the deepest published level to the shallowest.
1Depth and the episode boundary are different questions
A product can go all the way down to dialogue and never say where one instalment ends. Another can hand back an episode and say nothing about what is inside it. Both are splits and they leave opposite halves of the job undone.
For a serialised app the boundary is the product: the last eight seconds of every instalment are what bring an audience back. A deep split with no boundary is a shot list, which is useful and is not a season.
2A published beat order is the most checkable depth claim here
Hook, escalation, reveal, cliffhanger is a shape a writer can accept or reject before paying. Four levels named without an order tells a reader how deep the document goes and nothing about what it will say.
Neither page states whether its structure can be varied. Applied to sixty instalments a fixed shape becomes a rhythm an audience learns, which is either the format working or the format wearing out.
3Nothing on this file says what happens to a revision
A script rarely survives its first pass through anybody's hands. No page read here states what becomes of episodes already generated when scene six is rewritten, at any depth.
For a team working to a release date that is the question underneath this whole column, and it is the one every vendor has left for a support conversation.
- Script to episodesThe narrative is described as automatically structured into episodes, scenes, dialogue and emotional story beatsautomatic
- Script to episodesAn existing script, an AI draft or a plot outline is stated to be broken into shots, beats and visual promptsbroken to shots rather than to episodes
- Script to episodesThe page describes turning one larger story into Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, recap clips and next-episode teasersas a repeatable shape
- Script to episodesThe AI is described as writing the script scene by scene, casting consistent characters and storyboarding every shot as hook, escalation, reveal and cliffhangera named sequence
- Script to episodesWriting a scene is stated to return an episode, and a show started in any genre is described as being shaped into a seasona scene in and an episode out
- Assembling an episodeThe stages are named as Cast plus World, story setup, scenes and film assemblya named stage
4The words this register uses
Terms with a page of their own, each recording what vendors publish about it, include segment and shot, reference image, character consistency, storyboard script, scene plate, novel to video, AI short drama and vertical micro-drama.
5One pipeline's continuity
Serial work like “How far the split goes” depends on continuity; SceneMixer's guides describe how it keeps it:
SceneMixer turns a novel into a watchable short-drama series in one pipeline: upload the novel (Chinese or English) → AI extracts characters, scenes, and an episode-by-episode structure → generates consistent character and scene art → writes storyboard scripts → renders video segment by segment (16:9 by default, 9:16 in one setting) → composites full episodes.

SceneMixer generates each character once as a full-body reference sheet — 9:16, plain background, directional key light, identity features written before any technical instruction — and then attaches crops of that sheet to every shot the character appears in.
